Job Title: Police Officer - Advertised: 05/14/2013 - 06/05/2013

The Civil Service Commission has scheduled an entry-level police officer examination for the City of Findlay on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Findlay High School cafeteria.

Applications may be distributed beginning Tuesday, May 14, 2013, during normal business hours.  The deadline date for receiving applications is Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 4:30 p.m.  All applications must be received or postmarked no later than 4:30 p.m. on June 4, 2013.  Applications may be submitted electronically at: Jobapp@findlayohio.com, delivered to the Civil Service Commission Office or Mayor’s Office, or mailed to Findlay Civil Service Commission at 318 Dorney Plaza, Room 303, Findlay, Ohio 45840.

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic for Water Treatment Plant
Maintenance Mechanic for Water Treatment Plant

The City of Findlay has an opening at the Water Treatment Plant and is looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic to help maintain its 16 MGD lime/soda softening plant. In order to be considered for this position the applicant must meet the following requirements:

• Must have high school diploma or GED
• Must live in Hancock County or in any county adjacent to Hancock County
• Have electrical skills
    o Read schematics
    o Use diagnostic tools
    o Trace and run signal and electrical wire
    o Work with PLC’s
• Mechanical skills
    o Work on pumps, valves, actuators, and plumbing 
    o Weld, braze and solder
    o Engine mechanical skills
• Work on HVAC system
• Must have Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Perform unskilled duties
    o Mowing, trimming, painting, snow removal etc.
• Be able to pass drug and background check

Starting hourly rate $17.16.

Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.
